Dedication to my friend: Walter

Friends can go long periods of time without speaking and never question the friendship. These friends pick up like they just spoke yesterday regardless of how long it has been or how far away they live. That is how Walter has been for me. A best friend always no matter the circumstances.

Walter, I am so proud of you. You are about to walk the stage, something that when we think about it, seemed impossible a few years ago. Arriving to this country, not speaking English, facing the obstacles of being undocumented, financial circumstances and getting into a coma after getting hit by a drunk driver. Walter, you made it!

I am so proud to call you my friend and I know that if you made it through a coma, you can overcome anything! You are one strong person and I admire your dedication, your heart, your poetic self. I love you very much!

Thank you for all that you did for ULI, DEEP, UT, etc. I am glad we meet on the trip in D.C. when we were fighting for our DREAM, lobbying, chanting, marching, like we always do. We will never stop!
